Our stearic acid is of vegetable origin and is obtained from the division and subsequent hydrogenation of the stearic fraction of a vegetable oil. It is the result of the hydrolysis of palm oil (or its fractions, such as stearin or olein), followed by hydrogenation and subsequent distillation.

Typically, stearic acid is a mixture of stearic acid and palmitic acid.

The richest palmitic quality is used most in the personal care, detergent and cosmetics sector.
